Hawthorn Doula Care is committed to building supportive community and resources for bereaved parents.
If you have experienced pregnancy loss, still birth or infant, we are here for you.
My name is Ada. I am the loving parent of Button, who was stillborn in January 2015, and Simon, a rainbow baby born in August of 2016.
I have done community health education, birth work, abortion support and public health work for the last fifteen years, attending over 100 births as a student midwife, community midwife and Full-Spectrum doula. I have attended numerous trainings about pregnancy and infant loss, including “Shaping the Journey of Bereaved Families in the Birthplace” by Empty Arms Bereavement Support, I’m certified in “Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss” through the Institute for The Study of Birth, Breath and Death. I have presented on several panels about my experience with infant loss and have taught a course on peer support and infant loss for Indie Birth. I am currently studying Somatic Experiencing, a body based trauma healing modality.
